Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


Click on the Registration Form, fill in the details and submit the form before the closing date.

Information regarding the dates and the routes of the run may be obtained from the website, once the information has been updated by the Organiser.

1. Open to citizens of Southeast Asia residing/studying/working in Malaysia, aged 12 and above.
2. Fit and active (physically and emotionally).
3. Able to run up to 2km continuously.
4. Must be a team player.

Results are estimated to be released during the first week of May 2017. Please refer to the respective Youth and Sports Department closest to you. For a list of the Youth and Sports Departments nation-wide, please visit www.jbsn.gov.my. Successful applicants will be notified via email.

The organising committee will select the torch bearers. The committee’s decision is final. At least 3,000 torch bearers will be required for the run throughout the country.

A group of torch bearers will run a distance of up to 2km, with each individual taking turns to carry the torch.
No. There are no fees for participating in the run.
Selected torch bearers will be provided a t-shirt to wear. Other participants are free to wear their own appropriate sports attire.
Participation is based on volunteerism. As such, there will be no monetary compensation for the runners or the torch bearers.
Participants who need unrecorded leave may apply to the Torch Run Secretariat at the State Youth and Sports Department. However, the State Youth and Sports Department can only issue a letter supporting the participant’s request for unrecorded leave. Approval is solely at the discretion of the employer.
