Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport which consist of two boxers fighting in a specific boxing ring. The boxers’ attire is separated between red and blue shorts with their own weight category. Every boxer need to punch against the each other but within a time frame of the bout. Each round is three minutes long and one minute break between each round. In the Amateur category, there will be three rounds while in Professional category, there will be either 6, 8, 10 and or a maximum of 12 rounds. Each bout will be conducted by a referee which will be in the ring with the boxers and at the same time there will be five judges which will sit by the ring side to give points for the boxers. For the SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017, the weight category is as such: Light Fly Weight (46 – 49 kg), Fly Weight (49 – 52 kg), Bantam Weight (52 – 56 kg), Light Welter Weight (60 – 64 kg), Middle Weight (69 -75 kg), and Light Heavy weight (75 – 81 kg).
